As an educational leader, Dr. Corn's music teaching techniques have been proven effective for over forty years. His Maizeone Music studio was housed at The Music Outlet in Sevierville, TN for twenty years until the 2020 Covid-19 outbreak. At that time all students initally transferred to online sessions until in-home sessions became acceptible. Now all sessions, personal and online, are performed at his home.
Dr. Corn instructs in various guitar styles and genres, electric bass, string bass, keyboard, old time banjo, ukulele, music theory, performance vocals, arranging, songwriting and composition.
Guitarists from across the nation come to the Smoky Mountains each year and reserve time to study fingertstyle guitar and music theory concepts with Dr. Corn. He performs as a solo artist and is endorsed by the incomparable Blue Frog Guitar Company (Custom Electrics) and the Maton Guitar Company of Victoria, AU (Acoustics). During the season performs each Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at NINO'S, an Italian bistro and pizzeria in Sevierville, TN. His showcase of rich instrumental and vocal arrangements cover various genres including; Jazz, Pop, Latin, Swing, and Classy Country
Pat keeps an active performance schedule as a vocalist and finger-style guitarst in the Acoustic, Jazz, New Classic Country, and Classic Country & Western Swing idioms.
The highlight of each year, for Pat, occurs each July in Nashville, TN...."The Chet Atkins Appreciation Society" (CAAS) convention, where lovers of fingerstyle guitar come from all over the world to celebrate the life and legacy of Chet Atkins. Attendees enjoy the art and artists who perform concert segments and workshops at the convention. CAAS is a guitar lovers dream. If you love the art of the instrument or the art of the music, you will love coming to CAAS. Pat does three concert segments and workshops each year for the attendees.
