Born in Hendersonville, NC, Pat became consumed with being a guitar player at an early age. His father made him his first guitar, at the age of 3, from a Prince Albert cigar box, a broom handle for a neck, fishing line for strings, and a piece of endless belt for a strap. Each day spent in front of the TV watching The Arthur Smith Show, broadcasted from Charlotte, NC, only fueled that dream to be a guitar player one day. As a teenager Pat began to play professionally at 14 years of age, and by the age of 19 had already recorded his guitar work on five #1 hits with major artists in the R&B/ Pop fields. Attending North Texas State University to study jazz, arranging, and composition netted him even more experience as a working musician where he had the opportunity to appear with the Buddy Rich Orchestra, the Les and Larry Elgart Orchestras, as well as many top-name musical productions, pop and jazz artists, and theatrical productions. Soon the call came from Nashville to work with an top artist. Moving to Nashville, Pat worked for many years in concert and studio settings, carving his niche as a reading, fingerstyle guitarist and versatile smooth vocalist. Pat's solo career has garnered him acclaim as a fingerstyle guitarist and smooth vocalist in the jazz, R&B, and country fields, as well as the gospel and contemporary Christian genres. He maintains a steady concert and workshop/seminar schedule. As a session artist and producer, he records virtually daily. His work is heard locally and around the world in both radio and television theme material.
Pat
eventually became the Director of Praise and Worship for The Hendersonville
Chapel, in Hendersonville, TN a 1200 member fellowship in the Nashville area, where he served for
ten years, while continuing to be heavily involved in the Nashville
music and recording scene. His worship seminar, "Whom The Father Seeks"
became instrumental in the growth of the worship atmosphere for many
churches and groups across the country. He has reached out even as far as
Nova Scotia in the
development of praise and worship dynamics. He is uniquely qualified to work
with church musicians and has developed "true worship" leaders. His experience has
uniquely qualified him to aide the hurting and wounded churches that have
been divided over "worship stylistics". Pat can be found regularly each Sunday morning at the Country Tonite Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN where he is the host and musical director for the Smoky Mountain Cowboy Church (SMCC). The SMCC live musical outreach broadcast reaches over 250 million listeners around the world each week through it's combined radio partners which includes WSM AM-650 Online (The Grand Ole Opry station) clear channel broadcasting from Nashville, XM Satellite Radio, and WWCR (Worldwide Country Radio) broadcasting around the world. The SMCC broadcast has catapulted Pat to one of the most listened to guitarists and vocalists in the world. Pat appeared nightly in 2006 at Elwood Smooch's Old Smoky Hoedown musical theater in Pigeon Forge, TN as their lead guitarist and as a featured vocalist. Comedian and former Hee-Haw regular Billy Baker will keep you breathless with his characterization of "Elwood Smooch". Elwood is hillbilly to the bone. The 2007 theatre season found Pat at The Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN for 368 performances as a featured vocalist and lead guitarist for this #1 rated show in the Smokies. Ever interested in music education, Pat is also a regular workshop host and performer at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention held in Nashville, TN. in July of each year. His workshops are well received and have proven beneficial for all performance level players. He also co-hosts the "Gospel Guitar" segment with ace guitarist Richard Kiser and does a personal solo concert segment as well. Pat's "and that's.... The Gospel Truth!" is also a regularly featured article in the Tennessee Star Journal newspaper. His article is deemed, "a brief message of encouragement to make your day a little bit brighter". A very popular ninety second radio version is available as well, with more of a comedic sense, and was one of five featured radio programs at the Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville in 2006. It is available to all market sizes and plays well on both sacred and secular stations, reaching a broad audience with uplifting and humorous stories without being "preachy". Pat also works with several songwriters and publishes their work through his publishing arm, Maizeone Music. 2006 brought an exciting dynamic to the Maizeone organization when and independent record label was launched exclusively for instrumental artists . Standing Stone Instrumental Records (SSIR) is dedicated to establishing instrumentalists a "voice" in the music marketplace. Utilizing the latest in music/web technology, SSIR artist material will be available for download from the major internet music sources while concurrently developing the artist a professional and product identity through website development and promotion. Pat is available for secular and sacred concert situations, production, theme composition, as well as seminars instructing in Praise and Worship Dynamics and Development and Church Music Applications for church musicians and staff. These programs will unite and enhance the musical worship experience for any church setting. His instruction in the area of true worship have been deemed "life changing". |
